Particle Sim
Here is a Honey Simulation class demo. I used Maya nParticles for this. I didn’t use liquid simulation; it’s just ball particles with tweaked nConstraint. The result is quite ok with this method, as nParticles are not really designed to simulate viscous liquid. This is a cheap way to simulate liquid, for lower budget and far away liquid sims. You need quite some nParticles to get a better shape. Later I converted the particles to mesh and rendered with Mental Ray, and composited in After Effects.
